what a nice laser for making dcg holography ! running about 15mw as 3,000 hours i mounted this unit together to work better in an holographic environment (no long ribbon cables needed ! like most Coherent beams, it's clean TM00 and SLM with a coherents length of meters! The only reason I’m selling this unit is i have purchased a larger version of 200mw +. I want $475 plus shipping and yes ill ship it anywhere. ill be listing it up shortly (for more$)on eBay and i figured i give you guys a heads up first! The power supply required is 12VDC @ 6-8 amps

Your price is fair; someone should buy this laser from you here. I have a couple like it to sell but nearly new so for about $2K (one laser is new and the other has 20 hours).
Test your 200 mW one for SLM before you sell this one. Not all Sapphires run SLM but most do. Good luck. Phil 142laser
PS We have a few 479 nm Sapphires for $4.5K and up set at 150 mW and 200 mW capable.

yes i know there are two versions of the 488-200, the LP and HP. As i read, it its only the LP version that will have the ability to make holograms ....

No the LP stands for Low Power and HP for stands high power. There is also a MP mid power that is the same size as the small LP heads and that runs off the LP controller. The MP platform can go up to 200 mW. Any Sapphire may run SLM and in fact it seems that most do run SLM. You have to test each laser head well at all power levels with a scanning interferometer to make sure the laser is consistiently single longitudinal mode. I have seen a few that run MLM and would NOT work well for holography. That is why buying one off e Bay is risky...even it it works perfectly it may be SLM or MLM; you really do have to test each head. Best wishes, Phil 142laser

Thanks for the info Phil. I now have my larger unit and its putting out 175mw or more (maxed out my meter@175mw!) it is the LP version used inside the 360nm-20mw Genesis laser. I know its an LP version as it runs on an LP controller, the way i read in the literature they (Coherent) only indorse the LP versions for holography, ill be testing it later on tonight .......stay tuned.
