I haven't really had time to put a proper web page together, but I made a start on a thumbnailed gallery of some of my past work here:
http://members.shaw.ca/holopix/My_holograms.html

Pics are more or less in chronological order. I plan to add a few more old pics and of course new ones as they materialize.

Tom, your holograms are just superb! But you know, which I liked most? The first one! It is a great encouragement seeing that perfection takes time and that my first hologram was not so bad after all  !!!!!

BTW, I hope you get a chance to post better pictures of the "matches" hologram, as well as describing the fire effect!

Thanks

Tom, can you update you profile to add your page? Then I will be able to find it as needed.

I took a picture of the setup - it's not not very clear from the pic what's going on, but I'll try to explain.

http://members.shaw.ca/holopix/pics/mirrsetup.jpg

On the right hand side behind the scene is a short-focus concave mirror that I made by stripping the paint from the back of a convex blind-spot mirror purchased at an automotive hardware store. It takes spill-over light that passes over the scene and would otherwise be wasted and focuses it to a spot on the back of the "flame", which is made from cotton batten. Some experimentation is needed to get the density of the cotton and focused spot size right so that some, but not too much light passes through the cotton where it is seen from the front..

I think a magnifying make-up mirror (at least 8X) should work, too - for this application, a front-surface mirror isn't needed.
