I’ve got a bunch of these remarkable little laser assemblies.
These make great red (638nm)holograms and holds SLM mode between 30-40 mW, and with only passive cooling!
There’s aspheric collimating lens , that can be made adjustable by careful removal of the two tiny epoxy blobs.
These are tested heads and have shown the ability to make holograms as deep as 3-4”inches deep (so far),testing later this week..

And here’s what the expanded beam looks like, using only a simple lens to expand the beam...

I just noticed your eBay listing, I'll buy one there.

Ok Joe, it’s easier vending these thru eBay as it takes care of all the shipping details etc... as a special for the forum I’ll send you two for the price of one ... (first few orders only)..

It's interesting that the datasheet says the operating temperature is +50C.

I have a paper somewhere on laser diodes which says it's much easier to maintain a stable temperature above ambient, rather than below ambient (i.e., thermoelectric cooling and its complications). This sounds reasonable to me.

Hi Joe,
Would like to see that paper re running above ambient if you locate it.
