Dear Colleagues,

It’s my pleasure to invite you to take part in the III International Topical Meeting on Optoinformatics, that will take place at Saint-Petersburg, Russia, 18-21 October, 2004

The Meeting will focus on new ideas, models, devices and applications, related to the role of optics in information society. The Meeting will bring together researchers, scientists, engineers, and students, involved in development of the topics, listed below. Special attention will be paid to students participation – special reduced fee for students will be established.
A presentation "Optical Logic without Speed or Energy Cost" by Prof.H. John Caulfield is planning as an invited one.
Topics of the Meeting on Optoinformatics will include, but are not limited to, the following:
· Physics of Optoinformatics;
· Optics in Artificial Intelligence and Computational Intelligence:
o Optical Neural Networks, Optical Fuzzy and Neuro-Fuzzy Systems;
o Quantum Holography;
o Genetic Algorithms and Evolutionary Computations;
· Optics in Information Processing, Storage, and Transferring
o Corneal Tomography;
o Signal Processing;
o Holography;
o Optical Correlators and Convolvers, Optical Security Systems;
o Optical Devices and Recording Media;
· Bio-Optics, Optical Photoreceptors;
· Mathematical Models of Optical Systems;
· Optical Transformations, Fractional Transforms, Fractal Optics;
· Applications of Optoinformatics ;
· Other topics, related to the role of optics in information society.
Official language of the Topical Meeting is English
The Topical Meeting program will include invited and contributed (oral and poster) papers.
