Photopolymers Update from Polygrama

Post by Sergio »

Dear holographers,

Two new emulsions are available from Polygrama, the experimental CROMA film samples is very promising for a low cost Lippmann holographic security item. Next month we plan increase the sensitivity and decrease the optical absorbancy for a better reflection setup regime.

The different photopolymers available.

Polygrama liquid photopolymer

SM-480TR, SM-532TR, SM-635TR.

These liquid pourable resins are specially designed for plate sandwich easy spread under pressure, after some quantity is added near plate center, clamping the plates (maintaining pressure) will spread the viscous material in thin 10-25um emulsion stable for laser light exposure. Nothing could be more economical.

* Liquid emulsions will deliver >50% diffraction efficiency transmission grating with a plastic hard substrate transparent with low haze.
* Isotropic material for real time holography.
* Totally synthetic material.

Solid matrix photopolymer

GSM-480, GSM-532, GSM-635.

Designed to be used as the liquid sandwich method, the polymer hardens forming a solid matrix material with exceptionally low haze and stability for holograms, specially HOE's. Delivered as a liquid components (A +B) just to be mixed before plate manufacturing.

Dry photopolymer film

CROMA Green, CROMA Red, CROMA PAN.

Lippmann holograms.

Dry "solid" photopolymer coated on PET film base and supplied in samples laminated on 2 x 3 in. plates, is capable of recording reflection images (any 3D computer art, stereograms and video) with fidelity for green or red colour security Lippmann holograms. Designed for low cost mass production of unique items in single or full panchromatic colour.

Alternative post processing of film surface with alcohol will deliver an enhanced bright image simulating the DCG (dichromate gelatine) Shankoff method of refraction index (or phase shift) enhancement.

Also, Polygrama release an experimental Croma OX film with sensitivity of ~1.5 mJ/cm², autobleaching during exposure for transmission and reflection holograms sensitive to 488, 532, 635nm wavelengths. Only light post exposure is necessary to fixing the recorded real time hologram.

Sergio.
