OK Dave. How were these made? I seem to remember a one step method described by Saxby but it does not come to mind.

They look like multiple-exposure holograms. How can you tell they were one-step?

I guess they can have been made with the technique described in the end of this paper:

yes DJ i think you a correct, apparentally there is a newer method where you project the slit/line by using a beaker filled with water as the LENS! Wow i got to try this!

Could you please tell where Vidar describes One-step pseudo colour rainbow holography. Or do you mean his liquid filled lenses?

Ah, looking at the site again I guess he only shows the lens for normal single step H2s. A rainbow would not be very hard with his lenses however.

You would need to project a real image of the object through a slit and make an "H2" of the image formed by a cylindrical lens in a transmission setup.
