question about personal messages

I was wondering why there is so much variation in the time it takes for the messages I send to go from my outbox to my sentbox. I assume the person won't get the message until this happens? If that's so, then some people will be getting delayed responses regarding the books I have for sale.

From what I've seen, it stays in your outbox until the recipient reads it. Then it goes to the sent box.

I've got a message to someone from the last contest (July 06) that's never been read. Guess I should go delete it.

yes i found early on the PMs would have a popup window telling me a message was waiting at the forum, now i have to go and see my mailbox and/or a message is sent to my email addy telling me a message is waiting

what happened to the popup notice?

Check your profile, as that is a user option. I still get a pop up.

That still works for me. If you've installed a popup blocker or enabled that feature in your browser, that would keep the popup from coming up.
