My first interest in holography dates back to the mid-60's when I was, um, younger. Eight grade, I think, I wrote paper for a science competition on the topic. I had the interest back then, but didn't act on it for quite a while. Much, much later in life, I was able to snatch one and then another 5mW HeNe laser from mainframe laser printers being scrapped. I thoughts were that someday I'd be making holograms and those things might come in handy.

Well, more time past. And eventually the Intertubes led me to you good folks. Just the right encouragement. So I took the plunge finally and even made a few holograms. As with any good hobby, I now have a great excuse to spent money on stuff that I may eventually use while occasionally producing something that I can look at and say, "Gee, I did that" (no matter how crappy the product).

All of you are part of this little hobby of mine, so the pleasure really is all mine in returning a favor.
