No Ning

Yes, it's such a shame as it was an extremely friendly community and a great resource. I can only hope that some of the members will find their way here.

Vertical Dark Bands on H2

John sent me one of his H1's for me to make a H2 from on my setup. Unfortunately the weather in our part of the UK was terrible at the weekend (high winds and torrential rain). I need to wait until the weather improves as it has an adverse effect on the quality of H2 hologram I can make. I'm hoping ...

interesting link and kit- will it popularize holography?

Hi It's the Litiholo kit. There is no developing with the plates supplied in the new kits, they use a photopolymer which is self developing as it's being exposed. This has the advantage that it's not reaqlly possible to over-expose the plates. I've made a couple of reasonable holograms using their k...

Introductions

Hi Bruno Welcome aboard :) Holography is a brilliant hobby that presents many challenges, it's great to have you with us. Is there any chance you could fill out your approximate geographic location in your profile? We can then see roughly where you are and there may even be some 'local' help ;) Chee...

Is Beam Ratio Important when making H1 Masters

Dinesh... What a superb answer, thank you :) That's allowed me to clarify my understanding of the fringe making process that goes on during exposure. I would never have made the association with sound waves, but it all makes sense now, what a great analogy. Thanks again for taking the time to explai...

Is Beam Ratio Important when making H1 Masters

Hi Ed

No, the reference beam is the brighter one. It's just that these CdS Cells work the opposite way around to 'normal' meters (yeah, took me a while to get my head around it  ). With the CdS cell, the lower the number the brighter the beam :)

seeing spots before my eyes and hating it

Hi Ron

If you're around on Skype tomorrow i'll show you the method John and I use. I too struggled with getting a 'clean' squeegee, but once I adopted John's method I haven't looked back :)

Cheers
