Re: Beam Splitter Problems
Din, thank you very much. I am encouraged that you suspect the inner planes of the cube as I do. The cubes I am using were very inexpensive. I have another inexpensive one arriving in a few days which I will test, but if I see the same problem, I will purchase a good one since, for my project, a goo...

Beam Splitter Problems
I am trying to use a beam splitter to produce a reference beam that is separate from the subject beam. I find that when I use a simple thin-glass 50t/50r splitter I get gross interference stripes all across the hologram - no matter whether I use the Transmitted or the reflected beam as my reference ...

Re: Has Litiholo disappeared ?
I finally got a call back from them. Their order page is down as is their email, but they hope to be up and running again soon.

Has Litiholo disappeared ?
Litiholo's web site is still up, but no purchasing is possible. They do not reply to emails, answer the phone, or return calls. Their last blog was 13 Oct 22.
Does anyone know what has happened to them?

Re: Purchasing Lasers
Thanks again, Din. I can (and will) do that. From that explanation, I conclude that - as a general rule - I should aim at having the reference beam and the subject beam be as close to the same length as possible.

Re: Purchasing Lasers
Thanks Din. That article tells me a lot about what to look for in lasers for Display Holography. I think coherence length is the term I was looking for.
That leads to another related question: Is there an easy way to measure coherence length of a laser? Thanks again.

Purchasing Lasers
I learned (on this forum) to test a laser reflecting it off of a thin glass slide to see if it would produce interference patterns. Is there a technical term I can use to specify that feature? I find that many people selling lasers have no idea about their suitability for holography. I vaguely recal...

Re: BEST FILMS ?
For now, I cannot handle film on rolls. This will have to wait. I will save this thread for later. Thank you.

Re: BEST FILMS ?
Hi Valery, can you tell me:
Size of film (my project uses 4" x 5")
processing (I am now using JD-2 with VRP-M film)
Cost of film - Minimum order
cost of shipping for minimum order
cost of shipping for sample
NOTE: I cannot use plates - film only, not mounted on glass
Thanks much,
John

Re: BEST FILMS ?
Hi Petr,
No, I was not aware of these suppliers. Thank you very much for the information.
