Nothing more in the way of equipment than you already have and use to access the forum. As for time, the occasional new member would need to be approved. There is also a certain amount of policing of posts. If and when a spammer slips past the registration process, there may be many posts that need to be corralled and deleted, and sometimes (but never with this friendly community
) a discussion may get overheated to the point an admin needs to intervene.
It all sounds much worse than it really is.
