The forum is now powered by phpBB version 3.1.5. One of its new features is the ability to use the Sphinx search engine. Sphinx is much faster than the standard search function built into phpBB (although this is of little importance for a forum of this size), but, more importantly, it is much more tolerant of common terms.
With the standard search function, search terms like DCG would be ignored because DCG occurs too frequently. Searching for DCG SHSG with the built-in function would find all the SHSG posts, completely ignoring DCG. The Sphinx engine, however, behaves differently. DCG would not be ignored, neither alone nor in combination with other terms.
The Holography Forum has been set to use the Sphinx search engine. The built-in function is disabled.
